 About us:    Audio Visual Research Centre, Sagar is a Media Centre of UGC-MHRD,New    Delhi and is involved in the production of Educational films for telecast in National TV channels such as DD1, DD-Bharti, Gyan Darshan and other National & Regional channels for the benefit of Universities, Colleges and other academic & training institutions of the country and abroad.

           ˜       EMMRC -Sagar is the youngest among 17 Media Centres in the country and is established in Dr. Harisingh Gour University (formerly, University of Saugor) in provisions of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on 31^st Jan.1994 among UGC, New Delhi; Consortium of Educational Communication, New Delhi and Dr. Harisingh Gour University, Sagar (M.P.)

Awards       EMMRC(Formerly AVRC) - Sagar has won 10 National Awards during last 2 Yeas in 14^th & 15^th      National Educational Film Festival 2001 & 2002.

& Honours  AVRC - Sagar now ranks first among Media Centres by winning 7 awards in just concluded year 2002.

   ˜       Two films got entry in International Film Festival namely Vatavaran - 2001

   ˜       About 4-5 educational films of this centre are shown on National channels per month.

The Institution:      Though this Media Centre is like any other department of this University but owing to its different kind of job-description, it is constituted as an Academic, Non-vacation department with administrative, academic, financial and           budgetary autonomy in its functioning.

˜       Situated on the scenic hill of University, AVRC-Sagar has a modern and centrally Air-conditioned Studio Complex and an Administrative block. This    Centre possesses a range of highly sophisticated broadcast quality and digitalized equipments necessary for the production of a film. Facilities for scripting, outdoor & Indoor shootings, sound recording & mixing, graphics, special effects, editing etc. are available in this centre at one place.

Activities:    EMMRC(Formerly AVRC) Sagar has produced 79 educational films of short durations (10-30         minutes) since 1998 when its studio became functional. A wide spectrum  of subjects pertaining Science, Arts & Culture, Ancient Indian History, Social Sciences, Language/Literature Agriculture, Environment, Sport & general interest were chosen & vividly filmed. This centre currently produces 20-24 films in a year in Hindi & English languages.

˜ Every year EMMRC(Formerly AVRC) -Sagar organizes an educational film festival named as
Gour Film Festival and screen its recently produced films before the  public.

˜ Extending support to Academic Staff College sponsored Refresher & orientation courses for college/University Teachers.

˜Produces Career enlightenment programmes titled “Prayas” about newer/emerging/existing areas which students may opt as career.

Diversification : EMMRC(Formerly AVRC)  Sagar soon to transform into Educational Multimedia Research Centre to generate  Multimedia based e-educational materials to       benefit both students and teachers alike apart from producing current enrichment type programmes.

˜EMMRC to become Vibrant hub for Multimedia activities.                       

˜Facility for “Teleconferencing” shall be made available soon.        

˜Degree courses such as B.Sc/M.Sc. (Electronic Media Production)     may start in future.

Personnel : EMMRC (Formerly AVRC) Sagar has a core-group specializing in various disciplines of film production. In addition to above core-group personnels, it can procure/hire services of experts, artists, technician from outside depending upon the requirement of production.     5:30 AM to 6:00 AM        8:00 AM to 9:00 AM                  4 Hours. a day

  *11:00 AM to 11:30 AM     7:00 PM to 8:00 PM(Monday)

                                                                   8:30 PM to 9:00 PM(Sunday) 

      *on Non-Parliamentary days
